CCJ after moving.

Hello,
Two days ago, I checked my credit score and was surprised to find a CCJ (County Court Judgment) in my name, linked to my previous address. (Yes, I updated my driving license and V5C in December last year when I moved.)
I immediately contacted the court (CNBC) and found out that the CCJ was due to an unpaid parking fine from Euro Car Parks in 2023. I have no recollection of this fine.
I now have until February 28th to pay it in order to remove the CCJ from my credit file—otherwise, it will remain there for six years. Thankfully, I caught this in time, as I had no idea about it until I checked my credit report yesterday. I'll be paying it as soon as possible to protect my credit score.
My question is: How can I prevent this from happening again? Since I wasn’t notified about this fine, I’m now concerned that there could be others I’m unaware of.

You would have to email a Data Rectification Notice to the DPO at any company, especially private parking companies that may have dealt with you within the last 6 years
As for the ECP case, DCB Legal appear to have used an old address for the service of papers so you could apply for a set aside, as detailed in the second post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum1 -

I just read the article, but I’m a bit confused.
To clarify, I never received any letters from Euro Car Parks. I only found out about this because I called CNBC yesterday, and they informed me of the fine's date, the company responsible, and that I have until February 28th to pay £304 as part of the court judgment. If I don’t pay by then, the CCJ will remain on my credit file for six years. ( they gave me a Telephone number and reference ) Is this fee going to pay directly to Euro car parks or is this the CNBC number ?
Based on this, I’m assuming the judgment was issued on January 28th.
Regarding the "set aside" request, where should I send the email? Should it go to Euro Car Parks or CNBC?
Also, just to confirm—should I pay this as soon as possible to prevent further damage to my credit score?

You didn't receive the letters because they didn't have your correct address, they got it from the dvla database, as they all do, not their problem that you moved, possibly without redirection in place
They should have traced you first before issuing a court claim against you to the old address, which became a default Judgment due to being undefended, so you have grounds a set aside, like all the other similar set asides in the last 12 months on this forum
If you did pay it would be to dcb legal with the claim reference
This is nothing to do with any credit score, the CCJ would be recorded after 30 days if unpaid
You need to do a lot more research on set asides, its not just a simple email, and the fee is £303 for a contested set aside , read a dozen to get the gist3 -

I will do a better research about on set asides but my main concern now is really my credit score. And the lady from (CNBC) told me that if I pay till the 28th The CCJ would be removed. But after reading the newbies post says this : "DO NOT ring the parking firm up...and do not just pay! If you pay you will damage your credit rating for SIX YEARS which multiplies the cost of car insurance and stops you opening bank accounts, renting or getting a loan." This makes me wondering if I should pay or not . And time runs against me . So please let me know if I should pay this now and then do the set asides. Or even in my case (aparentlly I have time to pay it off) I should NOT PAY. Because my main concern really is the credit score. Is nothing I can do about my credit score now having a CCJ for 6 years . Thanks

Credit file, or credit report, not credit score, each company has a different score, score is irrelevant
The court gives 30 days grace period to pay in full, after that its the advice you read, for latecomers, which you are not, not yet , so payment within the timescale stops it affecting your credit file
You must decide on what path to take once you have done the research, not our place to say, but to outline the options

You didn't have a fine and you don't have to pay this. You can, but you don't have to. Setting it aside is the other option, and you could get the whole claim struck out and pay NOTHING, CCJ wiped, the lot.
Up to you.

When was the CCJ issued? if you have missed the payment date, as far as I know paying it off will not remove it from your credit file, it will set there listed as satisfied, trashing your credit score and causing issues for years to comeIf It's too late to pay without it going on your record you will need to look at getting it set aside, you can do this if you have a just cause for not defending the original case, such as the papers were not served to the correct address. Also Euro Car parks do not issue fines or penaltiesFrom the Plain Language Commission:
