I find out in a couple of weeks whether my work are going ahead with the proposed hours cut to my contract. The 2.5 hours a week cut was a proposal to all people in the same department across the country. I and numerous others in my branch have formally rejected the proposal with disagreements in writing. We wait to see if the company decides to go through with the proposed changes that were to be taking effect from the 6th April 2026. I believe the changes to be unreasonable, which will cause financial hardship with the cost of living increasing, and therefore a breach of contract, which i have mentioned in writing to my employer. I have said i will be working under protest should they go ahead with the changes on 6th April, until an agreement can be made.

I am hoping more people across the company have disagreed with the proposal and the company decides against going ahead with the changes. I must admit it is stressing me out thinking about managing with less money and more money going to pay the mortgage in a few months time. So let's hope it's good news come the 6th April 🤞🏼

Another increase in my mortgage renewal interest rates, rising for the third time in as many weeks.

With a 2 year no fee fix at 4.78% and 5 year no fee fix at 4.74%. That's a 0.72 point increase on the 4.02% i thankfully managed to secure a couple of days into the war. Also a saving of roughly £50 a month (£600 a year and £3000 over the 5 year term) on repayments.
