AI Pension Checks

Tried running my pension/retirement plans through ChatGPT, it's very good at summarising the details and working out tax due, you even get a nice pdf at the end. Obviously not a replacement for a real expert but give it a few years....

LLMs are often bad at basic maths. You might want to check those numbers with a calculator!

  • LLMs hallucinate unfortunately...
i can ask it a TRUE/FALSE mathematical question, and it'll swear blind that both are correct.
I wouldnt trust chatGPT to look after my pet soil collection, let alone anything of importance.
On a trust level, language=yes, maths=no,facts=whatever it invents.
  • The only place I have found chat GPT useful is "How do I do this <code> in this other programming language I'm having to use but haven't properly learned yet?" or "Could you convert these SQL table creation scripts into scripts to create schemas for dataframes in pandas" or even, "Could you write me a unit test for this function" which usually takes a lot of legwork out of my job without me actually having to trust the result.

ChatGPT does not learn - in its simplest form, it is merely predicting what word to put next based on what word other people have historically put next.

However, someone could create model that does specialise in retirement funding. It still might hallucinate though.
