Not sure when you are planning on going , we went in the Summer and it was PACKED... we really struggled with parking found it very commercialised... lots of shops places to eat etc.... could hardly walk along as there were so many people....
The actual caves was very interesting and the grandkids really enjoyed it....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I went about twenty years ago. Can't remember any specifics (and probably a lot less commercialised then) but it still sticks in my mind as a fun place ... xGone ... or have I?0

Caves are magnificent. When we went last time we had an incredible guide who made it really interesting (but he was retiring). Been a few times over the years and I find it best to go out of peak season but when it's warm enough to picnic outside. (Still good in bad weather because caves are a fairly standard temperature, but can't enjoy the outside bits quite so much).
I wouldn't mind getting married there but OH won't agree:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I went back in the Summer. It was quite a good day out (the children 13 and 10 years of age) found the mirror maze and amusements more fun than the caves. We did however find that we couldn't spend a whole day there. We stayed about 3 hours and had had enough.0

We went last year - children 13 and 4 at the time .. they both loved it and we had a great time as well ! The caves were fantastic, the papermill is good and the kids wil love making the paper but you can only do this if you are in the front when they start making it (maybe not so much of a problem at this time of the year) I would agree that it is not a whole day affair, however it really is a nice place to go. I have been searching for discount vouchers and it seems they have all expired..except if you contact the Tourist information Centres in Somerset (such as Shipton mallett) then you can get up to 6 £1.00 off vouchers - better than nothing! Recommend taking your own food - very expensive and limited in there.I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0
