With the weather turning cooler and energy costs up 10% from 1 October, we want to know if you've turned on your heating yet or whether you've decided to hold out for a little longer...

I am not going to shiver in July just because it is July. A thermostat & timer (or modern equivalent) .is the only way to go. Although I can understand turning off a gas boiler if you still have one with a pilot light

Not yet.
I have an Air Source Heat Pump, but at the moment it's "off" because I've got the Thermostat set to 20 degrees in my main room and the temperature hasn't dropped below that.When it does, I'll reset the thermostat to 24 degrees and let the heat pump controller curve determine the actual inside temperature.PS the thermostat doesn't actually control the temperature, it just works as an on/off switch!if i had known then what i know now0 -

Triple glazing makes all areas of the room habitable; previously I had to move my chair away from the old double glazing and even hang up an adapted duvet to cover it on Winter evenings!0
