"We will refund the price paid by you for the goods within 14 days after receiving them back"

SO I was expecting these funds back within 14 days, but was asked, only AFTER the refund was made, that I "kindly allow 5 - 7 working days for the refund to be received back to the original payment method".
So the refund process is not actually 14 days, but 14 days, plus up to another 7 to 11 days.
Is there a fault here by the supplier for not including this info in the original quoted text above?

You haven't told us what the context us, but in any event, your remedy for enforcing it is going to take much longer than 14 days...1

"We will refund" would suggest its them that have actioned the refund... when you receive the refund is outside of their control and will vary depending on method of payment, your payment provider etc. If you happen to bank with a white label service in Zimbabwe they'd have no ideas how quick their banking system works. The various legislations are about the date they instruct the refund not the date you receive it.
If they are allowed to have 14 days to process the refund from the date of receipt of the goods or not will depend on the basis under which the goods were returned (eg CCA distance selling return, CRA faulty goods, warranty return)1 -
Very likely. However there is no realistic remedy available to you.acarter1970 said:SO I was expecting these funds back within 14 days, but was asked, only AFTER the refund was made, that I "kindly allow 5 - 7 working days for the refund to be received back to the original payment method".So the refund process is not actually 14 days, but 14 days, plus up to another 7 to 11 days.Is there a fault here by the supplier for not including this info in the original quoted text above?
In the unlikely event they don't pay, there are legal steps you can take that will (usually but not always) get you your money eventually.
Yes, it is frustrating. No, it shouldn't happen but sadly life is like that sometimes.0 -
So,the refund was made within the time frame stated- 14 days. How long it takes for you to be able to access it is outwith their control.acarter1970 said:SO I was expecting these funds back within 14 days, but was asked, only AFTER the refund was made, that I "kindly allow 5 - 7 working days for the refund to be received back to the original payment method".So the refund process is not actually 14 days, but 14 days, plus up to another 7 to 11 days.Is there a fault here by the supplier for not including this info in the original quoted text above? They are suggesting, very politely, that you don’t panic when you cannot immediately see the refund as it may take your bank some days to deal with it.0
