Hello.
My mother passed away and my sister and I are named as the executors. We've decided to administer the estate ourselves.
We've valued the estate and have applied for probate. The estate meets the requirements of an exempted estate (I half thought it didn't, but then realised I'd read a detail incorrectly) and so I have applied online providing a valuation of the estate. I haven't completed an IHT400 as I undertsand that this is no longer required - meaning the information I've given so far seems very bare.
The thing is that I haven't actually provided very many details and I can't help but feel this lack of information is going to come back to me soon. Has anybody had HMRCT get back to them to request more info? If so what information have they tended to ask for and how has it affected the probate process (except for the obvious delays)? Any advice much appreciated.

We (husband & I) have each applied for probate within the past 14 months for our Mothers, both exempted estates, & probate given quickly in both cases (about 9 weeks) with no requests for additional information.
Hopefully the same in your case too.0
