What paperwork should we receive - extension

We had an extension built at the end of last year, a single story wetroom - handed over, 2 months ago.
We have received no paperwork at all from the builders - no receipts, no electrical test certificate, nothing from building control / council.
Before I raise it with them - could someone please confirm exactly what we should receive when an extension is handed over ?

Was the BCO from the council or private?

It was a private job - the council were only involved to carry out building control checks. We paid the whole lot
The tests were done - but just waiting for documentation as proof

You need the Council Building Control Officer to come round for the final check if he hasn't already. He will them give you the final sign off certificate.

The BCO HAS done his final checks  - but we've received nothing from anyone
Is the builder responsible for forwarding the report on to us or should the council contact us directly ?
Also the electrical check certificate - is that treated as part of the BC check or is it separate ?

    I'd contact the Council.

The Council will issue the certificate. Did you speak to the Building Inspector when he did his final, and he say that he was happy to sign it off?

We had problems getting the various certification from our builder.  In his case it was down to lousy management of paperwork.  We did contact the council but they told me they would have to come out and redo the checks, and charge us, if we wanted them to provide a new certificate.  We did finally get everything from our builder.  From my experience of builders they are far more interested in doing the job and moving on to the next one, than in the paperwork.

Speak to the builder.  If the certificate hasn't been issued yet then there might be a couple
of things outstanding, usually paperwork that the builder needs to send to the BCO.

There should be an electrical certificate but the electrics are also covered by the final building control completion certificate.

Where can I get a copy of my building certificate? | LABC
This might help if you can't get any response from your builder.
