Missed out on ISA Help to Buy £3k bonus

I had approx £13k in a help to buy ISA. I closed the account on 13/11/23 ready for my completion date on 20/11/23. I was told by Barclays that the closing statement would be sent by post. I did ask for a copy at the bank but they said this was not accessible at the branch...this never arrived. I went to the branch again and demanded a copy, by this time the completion date had passed. My solicitor informed me that I am longer eligible for the proposed £3k payment!!!
Naturally I'm devastated.....is there anyway I can challenge this please? Someone suggested I take Barclays to small claims court.....

Make a formal complaint to Barclays and escalate to FOS if you don't receive a satisfactory outcome.I am a mortgage broker.
