The example is below I have these style taps

I would like to replace them with this

Im sorry if this is a silly question im ok with all other DIY except plumbing almost get  phobia thinking I could flood the house and cause more damage than not.

Any help will be grateful

What’s the distance between the tap holes?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • I did this swap for that same mixer tap in my utility room earlier this year..However mine was on a kitchen sink / drainer. In your photo your sink looks quite small and I'm not sure the mixer spout would be suitable for a sink that size and basin shape. As above though the most important part  is the distance between tap holes

You can get around the problem of the distance between taps by choosing an ‘adjustable bridge mixer tap’.

The mixer in a sink that shape is likely to hit the up going slope away from the plug hole and soak you - but do some measurements to see where the flow will hit.

Youd also have to remove the plug thingy and fill.

Sinks are quite cheap. Sales on. I'd have a look for a new basin that would accommodate the mixer better. Check it will fit right on the pedestal and finally right height for you.

Then the answer is absolutely yes. As above I did this swap for the exact style of mixer that you have put above. It is a huge improvement on the single taps
