Good Evening MFW'rs
Washing pulled in just before the school run. I took my eye off the ball and hadn't realised it had started mizzling 🙄 So the clothes were slightly damp, but I popped them on the airer and will hope for the best.
I did buddha bowl for tea. We had brown rice, a vegetable, green lentil and tomato 'stew', shredded & steamed brussels sprouts, smoked tofu, a miso/tahini/garlic/yoghurt sauce and toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. It was quite nice (the lentil thing was leftovers with added chopped tomatoes and frozen mixed veg and was slightly disappointing taste-wise), and 3 clean plates resulted. It decluttered the last tofu block from the fridge and the brown rice and lentil mix from the freezer.
I realise I hadn't said we've had the towbar fitted. DH is itching to take the bikes out now - but it will have to wait for some daylight and the weekend. The insurance firm has been notified and I think DH said there was no additional charge, but it has been noted on file. All above board. Just got to wait for the CC bill now - but at least the money has been ring-fenced for it, so no shocks.
I can't think of anything else MSE to report.

Aw thanks lovely people. It looks OK - better than I thought it might, and got done well within one day(even better). We'll have to see how 'shin-clacking' prone it is when as we use the car/access the boot. DH went with the slightly more expensive quote in the end, but it's a small company, specialising in tow bars and electrics etc etc. They have been in business for at least 30 years (probably longer), so we believe that a good job has been done.
And yes, absolutely it should open the doors to some adventures 😁

Good Afternoon MFW'rs
Pleasant spring-like weather with us. No clothes wash on, as I'm temporarily without enough things to make a load……👍TBF the breeze isn't brilliant anyway, so it's not brilliant drying weather out there.
I went for a pootle to the farmer's mercantile - waste of time 🙄 - and then called into fArmf00ds on the rebound. They didn't have what I was looking for, but I still managed to spend £12.95 in there 🫤 I'm giving their chopped tomatoes a whirl - they had 3 tins for £1 so I'll see what they are like before committing to a tray of 12 - which only saves you a penny anyway…… they had a quite good deal on 'snacking' nuts - there was walnuts, pistachios, almonds and mixed nuts (I think) that were 2 x 200g packs for £3 - which is cheaper than MrL and hB. So I got some almonds and walnuts. I got some rice for the microwarrvey, as a holiday pantry item, and some snacky "watching rugger" things, as well as some frozen crushed garlic.
I tried to book a drs appt today, but didn't get very far with a slightly "computer says no" call-handler. I noticed they don't even bother asking you what you need to see a medical professional for anymore. I hope I haven't got anything serious…… 🤔 Try again tomorrow is apparently the official guidance.
I faired much better with the dentist, so as long as me teef don't all drop out in the next month, I'll at least have something to get checked out.
Right off to update siggie. Greying X

Good evening MFW'rs
The YS'd leeks were pressed into service today; leek, wrinkly potato, cannellini bean & pea soup was the result. It was nice - I cooked half of the potato and leek with an onion and then blitzed, and then added the rest of the potatoes and leeks and cooked again, and then added the (tinned) cannellini beans and frozen peas. An individual jelly, a spoonful of fruit cocktail and a dollop of yoghurt made a pudding.
I don't think I've anything more MSE to add.

Good Evening MFW'rs
Weather was spiffy with us today. Such a tonic.
I popped to MrS to get a couple of bits and bobs. They hadn't got the kimchi I was after, but I got some sauerkraut instead. With the exception of the TV mag, I'm delighted to report that my shop was of whole foods, and vegetables. Oh, and I missed the memo - since when did beetroot get so darned expensive? I spent £13.94 in total. Quite a chunk of change, but as we always say, 'real' food isn't cheap.
Tea was butternut squash (bought a frozen pack today - no seeds! have the manufacturers been reading this thread?? 😁), chickpea and carrot curry, lentil dhal, shredded steamed sprouts and basmati rice. There was enough for us all and l/o to pot up for the freezer, of the curry, dhal and rice. We munched all the brussels sprouts!
I can't think of anything else MSE relevant.

I made my first ever dhal tonight - inspired by reading about your various curry culinary delights. I used a recipe from the Mr L app - spiced roasted carrot and kale lentil dhal and we really enjoyed it plus we have a pot for the freezer for another day.

That sounds good, @Blackcats . Is it this one?
