UC & pension

If I took a job for 10 hours a week and took a monthly income from a private pension, would I still be able to claim universal credit to top up because neither the job or pension amount to much?

I'm struggling to work longer hours but I'm doubtful I would be entitled to any health related benefits.  I'm 56

Thanks

Your pension payment will be classed as earnings and as such for every £1.00 your earn your UC will reduce by £0.55. - wrong info

Would you also get a lump sum?  Anything above £6K will further reduce your UC and anything above £16K will stop your claim.

Thanks for the reply, no I won't get a lump sum.

Would I be asked to look for more work if I only had a very small job?

Pension income is classed as unearned therefore reduces UC pound for pound. Only earned income is subject to the taper and work allowance.

If you don't have any health conditions and earn less than your AET, yes you will.

As kaMelo says this is incorrect.

The OP will lose UC £ for £.    Pension income is not classed as earnings for UC.

As both Alice_Holt and KaMelo have said, my info is incorrect.  The info I was backed up by finder.com.  Apologies for the wrong info.  Above will be edited.
