Car insurance cancelled at 18.47 today no notice or reason ending at 23.59

I received an email from the car insurance cancelling and ending today.
no previous, discussion, emails, calls or letters.

the last direct debit was the 6th of Nov so it’s not due. I’m confused and upset.

there close now, I’ve emailed and I’ll call when they open at 10am but is there anything else I can do?

Check your spam folders for emails that may have been missed.   Check the online portal, if one, for any letters that may have been generated.      However, until you know the reason why, its hard to offer much more information.

If you cannot resolve it, it may be better to tell them to cancel it as this would be before they intend to cancel it and you avoid having to declare that you have had a policy cancelled by the insurer.

I’ve called them they said my direct debit was cancelled. I did not do that. 

I stated I paid on the 6th Nov and they cancelled on the 1st of dec. it was due on the 4th dec and they didn’t contact me and I can pay by card today.

I'm awaiting a callback while they look into it.

they already cancelled it with 5 hours notice.

They’ve reinstated it now, not great if I didn’t see the email I’d been driving with no insurance

Oddly enough, the only genuine e-mails I've had recently which got pulled into the spam mailbox were from my new car insurance company.  If I hadn't noticed them they would have cancelled my insurance for not answering their additional questions.  I've no idea why the spam system viewed them as spam.
