Advice for 19 year old claiming PIP - options

My son will be 19 in January. He has autism and is on PIP enhanced care and mobility until 2025. We have just migrated onto UC from child tax credits and are awaiting our first statement in early December to see if we are entitled to anything. I work 36 hours a week and my husband is our son's full time carer and claims Carers Allowance.

I understand that our son will come off our UC claim next August which will likely reduce our UC to zero. Our son is currently in full time education at college studying for a Level 2 qualification. When he comes off our claim would he be eligible to apply for anything in his own right? Just wondering what his options are - he may stay in education to do a Level 3 course, move to a Supported Internship or look for work. Any advice on what may be available to him with regards to financial support would be most appreciated. He will be continuing to live with us for the foreseeable future.

Thanks so much in advance.
