Waiting to exchange

Hi all

Sent my deposit and sol fees over on Saturday and we are completing on Monday but still to have an exchange date set.

Rang my solicitor today to chase to be sent an email following asking for the following;

1. Proof of building insurance (didn't think this was to be done until exchange date set)
2.asked for bank details incase funds need sending back (why would this be needed)
3. Sol asked if I'm having a gifted deposit or isa? ( again why when all this has already been proved rtc)

Bit lost as to whether all this is normal?

Help please?

  • You mean "we are hoping to completing on Monday "

    Hi all

    Sent my deposit and sol fees over on Saturday and we are completing on Monday but still to have an exchange date set. have you (all) agreed to Exchange/Complete on same day? If not, what gap has been agreed?

    Rang my solicitor today to chase to be sent an email following asking for the following;

    1. Proof of building insurance (didn't think this was to be done until exchange date set) you start the cover from the Exchange date, but your solicitor (acting for your mortgage lender) wants confirmation you have a policy lined up ready.
    2.asked for bank details incase funds need sending back (why would this be needed) purchase might be delayed by a week. Or a month.Or might fall through. You should be pleased your solicitor is clearly keen to be in a position to return your money if necessary
    3. Sol asked if I'm having a gifted deposit or isa? ( again why when all this has already been proved rtc) Uneccessary IF, as you say, already confirmed.
