Copper pipe tight in one of the pipe clips ?
Used to hear ticking noises from my central heating system as it heated up & cooled down. Eventually got round to running a pair of 15mm pipe in some plastic conduit (they were being embedded in a wall), Since then, no noise.
If the noise has only recently started, try giving the radiator a nudge one way or the other horizontally - It could have been knocked, putting one of the pipes under stress.
