I would like to purchase a 40 inch television for around £800 or less. Is this doable? I dont have much experience and not sure what to look for in the requirments. Has anyone seen a decent one they can recommend.
Many thanks:o

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

My suggestion is to buy a Samsung M87 Series 40 inch LCD TV that retail online from £750 (froogle it).
I really do not have enough time to list why I recommend this TV but after 6mths of research it is the TV I have set my heart on buying.
My friends TV popped last week and he is buying one too after Xmas as he knows I have researched a lot.
If you have more money to spend I recommend the Samsung F86 series 40 Inch LCD TV which is slightly better but retails at £1,000 roughly online.
Finally the only TV IMHO remarkably better worth considering are the Sony KDL40W3000 or the Sony KDL40X3500 LCD TV for £1,200 and £1,750 respectively (both way out of my price range).
A handy tip for you:
Find the cheapest price via froogle and then phone up John Lewis to price match it as they give out free 5yr warranty on TVs (warranty prices for 5yrs are usualy a few hundred pounds to buy alone).
