Thanks Santander - it’s nice to be appreciated

What a load of old tripe - it has prompted me tho to look at moving my account as I’ve clearly had it too long!!

I got one of those a week or two ago. The funny thing is that I became a Santander customer about 20 years ago, closed the account about 10 years ago and then had nothing with them until earlier this year when I opened an account purely for the switching bonus. That account is still open and has just been boosted to £100 to qualify for their prize draw. Yep, completely loyal I am....  :D:D

I’d go get a lotto ticket too but stopped playing it 15 years ago 🤣

I’ve had a back up account with Santander since before they took over Abbey National and to
be fair it came in handy when their interest rates improved this year application wise.

Lol about popping £100 in there @boingy - eye on the prize!

  • Yes I got their email as well........they like me & I like them.

Great bank, great service, 11/10, never let me down, highly recommended, some great accounts, some not so great (but I ain't got them), partner also has an account with em, love everything they do, local, always seem open& available, really like their branch facilities, haven't suffered the issues raised by others, definitely be sending them a Xmas card.

Agree they are pretty good but I’d largely moved most of my banking to Chase  up until recently when Santander upped their game interest wise.

Like @GeoffTF, I have been with them since Abbey National days (following an argument with my previous bank when they left me in a position where I could not pay a bill because they would not allow me to lodge the cheque, issued by a bank, that was to fund it).

In all those years everything has just 'worked' apart from a couple of minor issues requiring me to contact the call centre (a cheque book had not arrived and a spurious charge on my credit card).
Past caring about first world problems.

My mother has banked with Santander for over 40 years but didn’t get an email. You guys must be long term customers!

I was a 28 year customer until last year in one way or another. Can’t say I miss them!
  • I find their web site the best of any of the banks & building society accounts that I have ever had. Easy to use, navigate, find what's needed, transfer funds, pay bills, set up standing orders etc.....it's wonderfull. My local branch is head & shoulders above all the other high street banks I use.......hardly ever queue for more than a couple of minutes, 5 cash machines that do virtually everything you need. Can t praise them enough. Highly recommended.

I’ve not been with them 40 years!  Maybe your mum should check spam email folder 😉🤣👍🏻
