Payment to dissolved company

We have received a letter requesting payment for work completed - badly and never bought to a conclusion - but the company has now been dissolved. Do we have any obligation to pay? Thanks

Who sent the letter?  You wouldn't have any liability to individual (ex-)directors, for example, but if it's liquidators or administrators then that may be a different story....
  •  Its come from a  company director but details the franchise that completed the work - the now dissolved one.

Too little detail to know if you're obliged to pay or not, I'm afraid.  We'd need to know exactly who your contract is with, how the franchise was set up and what terms and conditions might apply in the event that the franchise is dissolved.

as above - who are they asking you to pay? if the limited company is dissolved then they are no longer an existence and you can't pay them.

Can you explain the supply chain properly? It sounds like you bought from A but B did the work. A is asking for payment but B has now been dissolved.
