Qualfy for Pension Credit with Equity Release?

I've tried to apply for Pension Credit but stumble at the question about Mortgage/Rent as I don't have either and there isn't another option. Is .gov. assuming that if you don't have either rent or mortgage then you don't need Pension Credit?

Comments

  • No the gov does not assume that.

Looking at the paper form there is one question that asked if you pay rent and another that asked if you have a mortgage with a yes / no option for either.

There may be a large amount of cash in bank, after release of funds. Also there may be repayments,  monthly or otherwise, to be made to providers of the equity release. These factors may or may not affect a pension  credit claim.
