Wren dispute

So, I've just had a reply from Barclays abut my ongoing section 75 claim against Wren. They insist that Wren have to come out and assess their kitchen. I asked them to do so months ago and they refused. They refused independent arbitration. At Consumer Advice's recommendation I had an independent assessment made which has been sent to Barclays. 1. Do you think I'm required to let them show up after nearly a year and then tell Barclays whether or not they think there's an issue? That's hardly going to be independent, is it?
Also their contract states below that repair or replacement is at their option. Surely that contravenes the Consumer Goods Act?


  • Given that Barclays won't proceed until Wren have visited, it seems sensible to let them visit.  Otherwise, you've ended your claim.

    With regard to repair or replacement, I believe Wren can choose to exercise either of those if the timing fits.  If they elect to refund, they are presumably entitled to take their goods away.
