Throwing random bits of insulation in my loft

Just wondering if I can improve my insulation a bit further. There's always local give aways of PIR board on FB marketplace etc. I've already got 270mm of loft insulation up there, pitched roof. Would throwing random PIR boards up in my loft help things even more? Or are we getting into the realms of silliness.

If you are putting PIR sheets in your loft, they need to be cut so that they are a snug fit between the joists. Not much point in throwing random bits up there on top of any fibreglass/rockwool.
