How do I pay late payment interest for first payment on account

as far as I was aware, I'd made all the correct payments on account, but I just logged into my self-assessment account and it says I owe £16 in interest for late payment of first payment on account.  I don't know how this happened as I always pay the amount specified when filing my self-assessment.

Anyhow, how do I go about paying this?  I can't see an option on my account, and I'm thinking if I just make a self-assessment payment, the £16 isn't going to clear the penalty, it's just going to go towards my self-assessment payments.

Did you make a claim to reduce the POA for 2022-23.  Which when you filed your 2022-23 return turned out to be slightly over reduced?

No I don't believe so. The only difference this year for me is I've left my PAYE employment. So up until march last year, I was part time employed and self employed but now I am just self employed. To be honest, it's only £16, I just don't know how I pay it. If I make a self assessment payment, will this pay it off?

Doesn’t really make sense as the first payment on account for 2022.23 was not due until 31st January 2023. Perhaps we are dealing with 2021/22?

In any case you just make the payment in exactly the same way as you make any other payment. The £16 has been debited to your account in
the same way as any other tax liabilities.
