Refund from Self Assessment Account - Been waiting since May 16th

Hey,
Just wondered if anyone else was in this position. Refund from SA account was requested on May 16th. The blurb advises something about the refund typically taking 2 weeks but not contacting HMRC until 6 weeks have elapsed.
When I attempted to call HMRC, I discovered that the SA helpline is closed until September 2nd. So I figure I'll follow it up in September and hopefully receive the refund late September/Early October. That's if I manage to get through to them - suspect the helpline will initially be very busy.
Thanks.

What does it show in your online account, did you request the payment on the HMRC website? What bank account is in the HMRC system for the refund to be paid into and have you checked the details are correct?0

Bank account details are correct.
The SA online account still shows the full balance before refund.
The repayment was requested on the HMRC website. I kept a screen capture showing the submitted repayment details. This message confirms HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has received your request for repayment.
HMRC aims to issue your repayment within 2 weeks. However to protect you against fraud HMRC has security
measures in place which may cause a delay. Please allow up to 4 weeks before contacting HMRC about your
request.
Please note: Only submit your request for repayment once - this will allow HMRC to reply more quickly. A
member of the HMRC Customer Service Team will contact you as soon as possible.
Looks like the only point I was wrong about was the amount of time to allow before contacting HMRC; it is 4 weeks, not 6 weeks.A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?0 -
I submitted DH’s 1st year’s self assessment and the refund due was in his business account within 10 days, I was amazed tbh.0

I submitted 20+ EIS claim forms last march for the year ending 2021-22. As far as I can see there is nothing against my id to suggest this has been looked at, 5 months is this unusual?

Just to follow this up.I phone the SA General Helpline about a week after it re-opened. I waited on the phone in a queue for ~110 minutes. I spoke to someone and they promised the refund in 10 days.Refund received 6 days later. They've refunded the full balance of my SA account, rather than what I requested. My request was for the full balance, less the tax bill payable by January 31st.At least I have my money back, but I've got to remember to go and pay the outstanding amount.A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?0
