I'm fortunate enough to have £20k savings, and have opened  2,3,4,&5yr fixed rate bonds with RCI, mixture of 6% and 5.8%.
Should I do an equal spread across all four, or is there a better method?
Thanks

If you think you'll need the money at a constant rate then an equal distribution makes sense. Also if you're hedging against movements in interest rates (but want to keep this proportion of your savings in cash) then an equal distribution is good.

Thanks, I should also add, these are joint accounts and interest paid out annually, so no tax. I shouldn't really be needing the money, and originally intended a split between a 2yr and 5yr, thinking that if interest rates are higher in two years I could take advantage. Then thought I would open the 3yr and 4yr options while at current rates just in case it may of more benefit.

I think staggering like this is a great idea. I notice that I couldn't find any easy access ISA's that pay (when factoring up) equivalent AERs. This way you hedge your bets... Nice touch...
