Does new flooring have to be fire resistant?

Hi,
I've bought some hardwood flooring for me bedrooms to replace the existing carpet.
I friend mentioned that maybe I should have chosen a fire resistant model.
The company that I bought it from doesn't mention anything in this respect, even though they have a fire resistant product line, that doesn't include my model.
Is there a legal requirement to install a fire resistant model when replacing flooring?

Presumably they can come at different levels of fire resistance, just like sofas these days have to be resistant- if you put your mind to it they still burn it just takes a bit longer…FreeBear said:

Furniture is flame retardant, which isn't the same as fire resistant.daivid said:
