Do I proceed?  Is he threatening me with what he's written in statement of truth (whatever that is)?   He was the one who paid me and it's his mother's address on all the invoices.    Paid four of five invoices, Im chasing fifth one.  It says the name of company (which HE paid) on my bank statements

Response-

He rejects my claim

He disputes my claim-

Mr (my surname) is claiming against the wrong person!   However, I believe his claim relates to decorating carried out on the property-
@ Avenue between March 2021 & April 2021, where my role was simply Employer's Agent for the owner of the property. The claim also is wrong in that I have, at no time traded as Design Te@@ De@@ Da@@ wishes to correct his claim, I suggest he emails design [email protected]

With statement of  truth-

I believe the facts stated in this response are true.   I understand that proceedings for contempt of court may be brought against anyone who makes or causes to be amde, a false statement in a document verified by a statement of truth without an honest belief in its truth.

Hello OP, who did you have a contract with for the service, him or his mother?
    With him.

Apparently he's lying about the employer's agent bit and I've received legal advice to send this letter-

    mr xxxxx
    address

    Me
    trading as xxxxx
    Address

    county court claim number xxxxx

following legal advice upon your filed defence i can inform you thus

your filed statement is as you know wholly false and can be proven so with electronic communication which will be presented as evidence

therefore i can offer you the opportunity to settle your account fully and finally without prejudice for £1000 representing the principle in claim, interest, fees and costs.

if you choose to reject my offer the matter will proceed to trial where i shall request committal proceedings for your false statement in tort deceit and contempt and seek exemplary damages of £5000 and enforce judgement and pursue criminal theft by deception and misrepresentation

I hope you didn't pay for that legal advice! That is a terrible letter!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Legal letter by ChatGPT? That's atrocious.

I think ChatGPT would do a 100% better job then that.
