PIP Issue

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this.
I applied for PIP around the end of last year and was accepted in January this year. I received a text telling me to call them, but due to one of my conditions I was unable to do so. However I found out that it was regarding a carer/carers allowance. Around a week later I received the forms in the post instead. These forms were filled in and returned. Yet it's coming up to 7 months now and I still haven't heard back from them. Does it usually take this long?
I'd call them, but like I said due to my condition that isn't feasible.
Has anyone had this problem before and if so how did you solve it?
Thanks.

You can't claim for carers allowance for looking after yourself. Do you mean it was regarding the Severe disability Premium? what other benefits are you claiming exactly? Do you live alone or with other adults?

Sorry that was my mistake and I misremembered. I did mean SDP. I claim ESA and I live alone.
    Thanks.

I would have expected a decision to have been made long ago. Do you have someone that can ring on your behalf?

My friends carers allowance claim took 11 months.
So SDP might take as long.
We claimed carers not SDP we even stated this on the forms.
    Only to be paid both.
On the first payment we called and informed them, same on the second and third payment.
Eventually they stopped SDP, we waited 2 years with the money in an envelope awaiting a request for it back.
Then spent it on the grandchildren for Christmas.

SDP is a very simple claim and should not take several months.

Hi sorry for the late reply. I think I could get someone to ring them up for me so I guess that will probably be the best thing to do if it shouldn't have taken this long.
    Thanks for your help.

At least it got put to good use Bigwheels. I bet your grandchildren were pleased.
