PCN ticket after 28 day appeal window

Hi all,

as title suggests. I received a PCN from those pesky Horizon scammers for overstaying, 3x letters now (last one being an "Overdue final notice")..

All advice I have had in similar previous scenarios was to ignore them and not enter into correspondence - which I've done before successfully with Parking Eye.

However after receiving this last letter curiosity got the better of me and I did a little googling. I came across some MSE posts and found the helpful NEWBIES thread - I'm a little late to the party as I've missed the 28 appeal window. Original PCN prob 3 months ago now.

Anyway, just wondering if there was any particular advice for this scenario as it didn't detail it in the newbies thread.
Or just continue to ignore. From what I gather from previous experience is that its 99% scare tactics with these cockroaches. They just pump out PCNs to everyone and get paid off the people that can;t be bothered or are scared into paying the  "discounted" fee. I don't think it makes sense for them financially to go through the hassle and paperwork of taking someone to court for £80. But they will send out letters threatening to do so, or send debt collectors. Or I could be wrong and will face the consequences soon  :D

yours sincerly

You may still be able to try and appeal but for now just do what you learnt in there newbies/FAQ thread and ride out the wave of useless threatograms from the scumbag debt collectors.

Come back if/when you receive an LoC/LBC. No need to notify us about the DRA letters.

You could and should still try Plan A. Have you complained to the landowner and complained to your MP?

What happened when you tried PLAN A in the NEWBIES thread?

yea went down to Tesco this morning and complained - got the expected response, they insist it's out of there hands and i'll have to contact Horizon.

One of my concerns about appealing is that they will automatically refuse it due to exceeding 28 days and it will put me on their radar so to speak. They've had no response from me as of yet, so if they hear from me now it might urge them to continue instead of just giving up. However, I did forget to mention that my father is a disabled badge carrier and has it registered to this vehicle, so maybe should include that with the template If I do. I said this to the Tesco manager and they advised to mention that. I also said that I'd only just seen all these letters recently due to not being at home (not completely untrue I've hardly been home these last few months).

Ring Dundee Head Office and complain that the store refused to help you, blah blah...they can see from your Clubcard what a regular, loyal Tesco shopper you are (WERE)... blah blah... your father is disabled (needs more time) and is protected by the Equality Act 2010 so what are Tesco doing hounding such customers?!

Should work.  Dundee normally sort it.

    Thanks Coupon,

just got off my 2nd phone call with them (1st phone call got heated with some arrogant little tit and ended). Second caller was bit more helpful and seemed to genuinely try to resolve the issue but ultimately the same result. They say they are unable to do anything about it and needs to be dealt with Horizon.

If I decide to make contact, I'm thinking to add a little extra onto the template along the lines of...

I have only recently returned to the registered address to discover numerous harassing letters demanding payment, which has caused me great stress and discomfort.
I will also add that there is a registered blue badge holder who has use of this vehicle as a passenger. They require more time to carry out daily tasks and require regular breaks to avoid overexertion.

Hopefully to give them a little incentive to cancel it. Otherwise I imagine they will just state the obvious that I have missed the 28 day appeal window and overstayed the time limit.

If you’re adding anything, you state it exactly as @Coupon-mad has written it, mentioning the Equality Act 2010 and so on.

Have tried writing to the Tesco CEO? Have you complained to your MP?

Thanks guys, emailed the CEO and managed to get the ticket cancelled. Just shared my frustration and dissapointed as a loyal customer, complaining about Horizon scammers whilst also mentioning what we discussed above.

    Thanks for the advice.
