Am I too late for the HSBC switching bonus?

Hello All,
First time post.

I opened a HSBC account in June, for the switching bonus
It took a little while to organise DDs needed. I went to start the switching yesterdat.....Now the bonus details aren't shown. July 3rd was given as the closing date.

But, as I opened the account before July 3rd, am I still eligible for the £200 if I switch and add the £1600 to the account?

I asked in branch and online, but they really weren't sure.

Does anyone know or have you switched after July3rd successfully?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I think you are. I also switched to HSBC but didn't initially engage the switching service. Then I read an alert on this very forum about the July 3rd final day to begin the 'official' switching service. I had to go into my local high street branch to do this and had it confirmed that day and was given a paper copy of all the documentation.

If you haven't already begun the switching service then there is now no need to, and you could just let the new account lapse or sit there empty, and switch to one of the other banks offering a £200 bonus currently. Just remember to use the switching service before the cut off date!

    Thanks for the note.
I received an SMS from HSBC stating what I needed to do to get the switching bonus, yesterday. I'm going to give it a try - what's the worst that could happen!
