Smart Gas Meter (OVO/SMETS1) not working for 2 years.

Just found out the gas meter wasn't working since June 2021 - the app displayed realistic numbers but it wasn't obvious that these were estimated. Elec meter is fine. They only told me they needed a manual reading from me a few weeks ago - but the meter is dead.

Chronology:
- 2018 gas meter installed
- June 2021 - last automated reading sent out
- June 2023 - OVO send letter asking for manual reading - not possible to obtain, display is completely dead. CS arrange engineer visit to install a new SMETS2 gas meter.
- July 2023 - Engineer confirms meter is dead, OVO tells him he can only install both gas+elec together, his boss does not approve as the job order was only for gas meter. Said it would need to be re-booked - not heard anything from OVO yet.

Should I be concerned about this whole mess and chase this actively with OVO or let them sort it out themselves.

It is not clear if the meter is actually metering and what are the implications if it is not ?
