Hi
I'm looking to put away some cash in an ISA but want to split between different fix lengths

Can anyone advise the most competitive bank for 1 and 2 year fixes please that allow this option? I saw Charter Bank do but also saw a lot of bad reviews about them.

Charter call this 'Mix & Match' - other similar approaches that spring to mind are Paragon's 'ISA wallet' and Nationwide's 'Portfolio' ISAs. This is relatively rare among ISA providers but I'm sure there will be others. If the better account comparison sites like Moneyfacts don't allow you to filter results by providers who do offer this, then you might just have to start at the top of the traditional fixed rate ISA lists and work your way down one at a time until you find one who does.

You'll almost certainly find mostly bad reviews online about the majority of banks and building societies as people tend to mainly leave reviews when they're not happy ! TrustPilot is especially bad for this.

Saying that - I've only got one account (a fixed rate cash ISA) with Charter so far and, admittedly, things didn't get off to a great start. It took them an almost unbelievable amount of time to verify my nominated bank account (we're talking months, not weeks !) and when my account was finally opened, they allocated me the rate that was offered at the time of my application (and rates had risen since then) but I managed to rectify this relatively quickly (and get the current, higher rate) by sending them an online message. This was especially annoying as the ISA was funded by a transfer and not from the nominated account. I haven't had any issues since.

The best rates list could perhaps be (manually) cross-referenced against MSE's listing of providers supporting split ISAs:

    Thanks for the replies

Zopa offered a good rate for a 1 year fix and allow multiple 'pots' - so I've opened this :)
