Yes, but specifically they are UK government bonds. Interactive Brokers enables dealings in bonds issued by various sovereign states, just not the UK.Doctor_Who said:Gilts are government bonds:

Fair point, I should have said gilts were UK government bonds. However, from reading the posts by the OP and the replies it was pretty obvious they were interested in buying gilts and not sovereign bonds from other countries.TheGreenFrog said:
