In folks experience, what are the best and worst cars you’ve had in terms of rust in recent times?

Cars seem better these days, are you thinking of modern cars or buying an older model?

I’m a total convert to older cars. We have a 14 year old Yaris and a 15 year old Corolla - both seem to be getting hit hard by rust…coastal town however.

Looking at my Corolla this afternoon as checking tyre prussure,  a smidgen of surface rust on a wheel arch. Nothing bubbling or flaking. that's about all I found.

We replaced ours at the last mot, big investment but we’ve had the car that long and it has FSH etc.

Did the MOT pick up on any rust issues?
