If your car is registered at an address and you no longer live there, you're in breach of the contract.  Temporary move is a grey area.  If you have regular access to the address registered on the insurance documents then make sure you use that address when dealing with company, if not, they might invalidate insurance.  The post above is a good point - loads of people do this with kid's cars at uni.  All well and good until they have a crash in a completely different postcode or the car is nicked 100 miles from where it should have been.  I've been there...they sent someone round to interview me...they're not daft.
