DCB Legal letter of claim

Apologies for starting a new thread, I wasnt sure how to join an existing one 🙈

So just before Christmas 2022 I received a letter with ANPR pics of me entering a car park. I remeber the day I parked (Nov) as I rarely use that car park. I went to pay a £1 but the machine wouldnt take it. I was with other people to confirm this. I then tried to pay on the app but the wheel of doom kept spinning and the app didnt connect. I decided to be quick but wasnt quick enough and spent 20 mins parked.

I then took some really bad internet advice and ignored the letter instead of appealing.  I then ignored subsequent letters from DCB debt collectors.

I now have a letter of claim and a debt of £160 to pay or risk being taken to court (which I have read is highly likely)

I am hopefully buying a house next year and cant risk a CCJ but ALL information on the internet is so contradictory.

Any advice is welcome as Im really concerned.  I have 15 days before my 30 days is up.

Please be kind...I know Ive messed up 😔

Is the PPC UKPC by any chance? Stop worrying about a CCJ. You can't get a CCJ unless you either don't respond to a claim or else were given one because a claim went to an old address that you hadn't updated on your V5C. Even if you went to court and lost and were issued a CCJ, it would not be on your record unless you failed to pay it in full within 30 days of issue.

Far too many people are so ignorant of the law when it comes to CCJs. So many believe that just being the recipient of a county court claim is the equivalent of a CCJ. It isn't so stop worrying about it.

DCB Legal are one of the bottom-dwelling residents of the foul sewage equivalent of solicitors. If or when they issue a claim, it if defended robustly using the templates provided, they are almost certainly going to discontinue before it ever gets to court. They rely on quivering, gullible victims, ignorant of the most basic knowledge of the law to poop their pants at the mere thought of a county court claim and paying up. Don't pay a penny to these scamming thugs.

You haven't messed up. Just reply to the LBC stating what happened and urging their client to cancel.

CLUE: they won't.  That's not the point!

Then when the claim arrives this Summer, defend it.  No CCJ is risked if you follow our advice.

The NEWBIES thread already explains this.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
