PSA and pension contribution

So I increased my pension contribution trying to extend the 20% bracket so as not to pay any tax at 40%. "Unfortunately" a buy up option became cheaper so I just slipped back over into the 40% bracket. It's going to get worse since the thresholds are frozen till 2027(?). I've tried a few tax/take home pay calculators etc but is there a way of getting a more accurate breakdown of your personal  tax situation rather than trying to use generic calculators?
