Hello, feeling a bit shellshocked really had a collision a week ago, somebody doored me,extremely apologetic his mate who was also in the works van part came out and they both were very apologetic and gave me all the policy details.
Thought nothing of it,turns out lots of dillydallying and The building company has finally submitted the report denying liability. I actually phoned the chap who doored me up,and again, he verbally admitted that it was his fault and he and he will have a call with his company. But they are still denying liability.
I’ve got a car that is driveable but it’s highly damaged. And now it is in the hands of the people who have to try and get the company to admit liability. I can understand that it might be that the chap who did it may lose his job, unless he lies? It’s all very depressing.
Is this common. I’m either going to be the one who has to cover my insurance if they just deny everything. The only evidence I’ve got is a text message explaining to the chap who did it to hurry up admitting liability on the report so I can get my car reply repaired, and he replied “will do”.
sorry for the long waffle.

Is this being handled through your insurance company?
Dealing with liability and getting hold of the money is the job of your insurance comany. The insurance company pays for the repair and then who pays in the end is their problem. You should not be involved at all unless the case goes to the courts and you may have to give evidence.
As a general rule if someone has an accident they should not admit liability as this could jeopardise any case their insurance company may wish to bring.1 -
Yes, there’s been no correspondence from me since. I only phoned him up to find out what was going on when I got the news.I’m certainly going to leave it now, but I was basically told by the people that deal with it that when the people won’t admit liability that it never gets very far once that happens unless they can get an admission?0

Because I’m supposing I might have to pay the excess myself which is £400, i’m assuming as they don’t admit liability I won’t get that back?0
