Fined for parking in my own paid-for spot?!

I live in a block of flats and have bought a parking space from the housing association. I bought a new car and the parking permit was loose. It must’ve fallen off the dash when the parking attendant took a picture of my car.

I appealed the decision to fine me. I failed and it seems to be a generic rejection letter and not personalised.

I proceeded to ignore. They’ve now sent debt recovery notices (with the wrong postcode as well). Emailing UKPCM just gets a response saying ‘it’s with debt recovery’.

Should I continue to ignore these letters? I begrudge paying for a spot that I’ve already paid for. My HA have said they can’t (more likely won’t) get involved.

Thank you for your help. I did try and look at the FAQ and NGL found it a bit confusing. Also, this seemed quite a one-off issue; I’ve bought this parking spot and being fined for parking there!

If you own that spot, opt it OUT of enforcement right now - send emails to both the HA and UKCPM - and stop displaying a permit.

Tell them to cease and desist trespassing on your paid-for space which is not part of any enforcement area, belongs to you and the proof is attached.

You are the leaseholder of this bay, which is nothing to do with the needless 'permit scheme' UKCPM are uselessly running to rip off residents elsewhere on site.  There is no landowner authority nor 'legitimate interest' excuse for UKCPM or any other bullyboy ex-clamper firm of similar ilk to set foot in this bay or touch any car parked in it.

PCN xxxxx must be cancelled; this is already causing immense distress and anger, and any further letters will be confirmation of a course of harassment.  UKCPM have no reasonable cause to continue to process this data nor to share it with their bullyboy debt crawlers.  The usual intimidating £170 demands reported online by victims of such 'outrageous scam' (MP's phrase) residential parking regimes will be ignored but any aggressive threatograms sent by or on behalf of UKCPM will be retained in order to illustrate the level of harassment, to support a counterclaim of not less than £500 in the event that UKCPM try a doomed court claim.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
