Personal tax account or call HMRC?

My mother’s 91 and her tax affairs have been straight-forward since my father died some years ago. However, at the beginning of the year she was classified as visually impaired and as such qualifies for Blind Persons Allowance. HMRC adjusted her tax coding for 2022-23 (as well as the current year) but it seems too late for her pension provider to operate it against her March payment, as a consequence of which she’ll be due a reasonable tax refund. Should we try and contact HMRC over the phone or would we be able to achieve a result quicker by setting up a personal tax account and effectively DIY?

Neither is needed.
She simply needs to wait for 2022-23 to be reviewed in the next few months.

Ok, so we needn’t do anything? That’s good news, thanks0

She could contact them but there is no guarantee that that would produce a refund any quicker.1
