Self assessments for CB Higher earner, Kids now adults
Spendless

When the different changes came about for Higher earners back in 2013 (??) we continued to receive CB and at the end of each year DH who is PAYE filled in a self assessment form. Our youngest child finished further education (sixth form) in summer 2021, the last CB payment being paid Aug/September 2021. At the end of the last calendar year (late 2022) DH did a self assessment again as we'd received some CB in the tax year April 21-March 22.
Later this year (end of 2023) in the usual way DH would do a self assessment again for what we received during the previous tax year (April 2022 - March 2023) However we have not received any CB during that period, as daughter finished (sixth form) education and is now almost 20 and at Uni.
Does DH continue to fill in this self assessment form? If so until when - just this year to show CB were no longer paid or 'forevermore' (as DH seems to think is the case). DH always filled in the tax towards the latter end of the year as he has benefits in kind (eg company car and doesn't pay for petrol), so waits for his p11d to come out first (around June-ish time) . Just adding this info in case it makes a difference to the replies.

If HMRC tell you to complete a tax return, then you have to complete it. To stop this, first check whether you meet any of the criteria that would require you to complete a tax return:
https://www.gov.uk/check-if-you-need-tax-return
If not, ask HMRC to stop issuing them. See:
