Hoping someone can help me out please I just got a message through Ebay from a seller I have (as far as I can see in feedback) never dealt with...It asked me to go round to see a neighbour re a cockup with her order!!!!!!!
How the hell did they find out my details?????Its scared me really have spoken to neighbour who says she has spoken to seller today and sorted it out,but not mentioned me (she doesn't know my ebay moniker anyway) but its shaken her up a bit too....can anyone shed some light on this please???

hmmm... not had anything for sale for a month or two and no address on my me page..only county on my i.d.
Sure I've never dealt with the seller unless they have a new I.D I deal in fabric this seller sells diamonds :rotfl:0 -
It may be that your user name is similar and it is just a coincidence you are round the corner. I looked up some peeps the other day when I wasn't totally sure of the user name I wanted and could have e-mailed any of them via the contact member system.
If I was you I would go straight back to them and ask how they got your details and knew you were near your neighbour, and why they would expect you to help them?!
If they have some sophistacted member location search we need to know about it!!:rolleyes:0 -
Not found through my user name I wouldn't have thought, mine is nothing to do with place etc.Its mine and sons names..
I've sent a message back through Ebay but had no reply as of yet. It's really bugging me.I've used Ebay since it started in the States years ago we didn't even HAVE Ebay uk when I started lol..I've never had anything remotely like this before in all those years!
I looked his id up and its a 'man, married with 6 kids and speaks Italian and English' according to his me page :rotfl: anyone know him0 -
So it's not Viagra he's after then...?0

In all fairness it really is not too difficult to track down names and addresses from things like forums - especially from high post-count members who will have made enough comments and left enough clues to enable them to be tracked down with relative ease - and cheeky little things can be dropped into images or links to track specific IP addresses, once you have an IP, it's easy enough to follow their trail across the internet!
You've no idea how satisfying it is to ring a troll at home and ask them to explain themselves in person!!!
It's unlikely in this particular situation, but you never know how tenacious some people can be!!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Enlighten us then steve how do i 'bug' someone. That is a worry. Is it easier to track someone without decent protection or doesn't it matter?0
