I've had a go at this and I don't think it can be done. It's not too big a problem, I can just delete unwanted cell contents after pasting. Here's what I want to do.

I have a monthly expenditure spreadsheet. The left cell of each row has text (like Car Tax, Council Tax etc.) and the top cell of each column has text (like Jan, Feb, March) etc. Each of the other cells has currency values entered by me and some have results of currency formulas.

I want to copy last years sheet to a new sheet and I'm wondering if there's a way to copy all of the origin sheet but paste only the text and formulas. Any cells that have neither text or a formula would be left blank.

Is this possible?

Select area of spreadsheet to copy from, right-click Copy
Select place to copy to, right-click "Paste Special", select option "Paste Special, tick desired data types.

Super. Spot on. I didn't see that option at first. Thanks.
