Royal Mail have paid out 3 times to me lately on packages that were declared to them at values over the maximum insurance cover.SuzeQStan said:£50 insurance is not enough to cover a £125 pair of shoes. RM will invalidate the insurance purely on that basis. This is for a business so don’t if that makes a difference but the latest was a declared value in the claim of £140 plus postage cost. RM paid out £100 plus postage, £100 being the max standard insurance on RM International Tracked.
When completing the online claims form, if you declare a value over the max cover they state they will not pay out more than the max. They certainly don’t invalidate it.1
