Parking fine claim form response advice-urgent!

10 Posts

Hi
Today I have received a claim form for a parking fine from over 3 years ago.
There was a 3 hour free parking at a mall but I was 20 mins late, as after shopping and the gym, I assisted a person who had fainted.
It was a particular stressful period due to personal reasons and soon after, a bereavement and I ignored letters.
The fee is now £213 plus £35 court fee and £50 legal costs, so £298.
Do I send a letter of defence using the template suggested?
What is your advice?
Thanks in advance.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?
Who is the Claimant?
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.
I've just checked and the link given in the NEWBIES thread works.
Is it the file about a money claim
I have given you a link to the second post of the NEWBIES thread.
(Especially liked Robbin Gits as a reference name lol)
When I completed my acknowledgement of service, there's an option to continue with my defence. Do you advise this Keith?
Sorry for all the messages. You're help is really appreciated!
