Bank account used by someone else. What are the repercussions?

During my marriage I was pressed into opening a share dealing account in my name, but for my husband's use. I am now locked out of it as he had changed it to his email address and he can't remember his password. Has tried too many times so now it can't be accessed online. I have managed to sell the shares and the money is now sitting in the account.
He wants me to close the account and to transfer the money back to him. I did go into the branch, told them I had managed to lock myself out and they said I just had to come into the branch with ID and the card and they could help me. I accidentally put the card in a bag with post for him, so I don't have the card any more, and can't have contact with him to get the card back.
So the question is, will I get into trouble if I go into the bank and tell them that he has been the one using the account? I know it is against the T&C to let someone else use the account but I didn't have a choice. There is a fair bit of money there. It is all his money, none of mine.
