Beware of the small print included in holiday insurance policies. I recently had a claim for a 24 hour delay on a flight from Bangkok to Sydney rejected by Mondial Assistance, recommended by Travel Counsellors, on the grounds that the annual world policy I purchased, to cover a trip that took in visits to Bangkok, Australia, New Zealand & Dubai, stated that delays other than 'the first outward & final inward flight forming part of a booked trip' were excluded. This would mean that only the Manchester to Bangkok & Dubai to Manchester flights were actually covered & ultimately left us quite vulnerable. I am currently awaiting the result of an appeal but will certainly ensure that I check all the small print on future agreements before signing up.
