£1,670 in credit gas and elec.  don;t like this new layout, prefer to see gas and elec completely separate.

DD £270 / MTH WAAAAY TOO HIGH, ONLY USING £170 PM

I want to change to pay quarterly billing instead of DD  to bring this balance down,  but I feel like I am trapped because the government payments of £60 are only for DD customers?
When  will the gov payments stop?

    Who told you that?

And why did you believe them?

Ask OVO for a refund to bring your credit balance down.

As KM1500 says, you can ask Ovo to refund you online - I've done this quite a few times.    They insist on you having enough to pay 3 months so you should be able to get nearly £1,000 refund.       They only let you do £500 a time so request £500 one day and then another couple of days later request the rest.

I pay OVO monthly on receipt of the bill. The £66 is shown as a clear and simple discount on the monthly invoice rather than being refunded to a bank account.

They don’t offer quarterly billing to anyone, except a very select group of customers they have inherited from SSE and they are moving them to a monthly bill (they don’t have to offer quarterly billing under their supply license are moving away from it).

Do you happen to know the difference in charges for not paying DD?

The difference for an average user is apparently around £100 per fuel, per year. When we moved into this property last year SSE wanted to calculate the DD based on a average users fuel use which seemed very high so I stuck with pay on receipt of bill whilst getting some use history together. We are using around half their estimated figures so happy this is currently the right choice for me.

Apparently you have to discuss the quarterly thing with their collections team but be prepared for a fight. (I prefer monthly now i am used to it).
