Marriage allowance swap

I have been previously transferring the marriage allowance to my husband as he earned above the threshold and I was below it .However I am now receiving my state pension and working part tine so this year I will be above the threshold and my husband will be below it due to his reduced hours .
Is it going to be possible to swap the marriage allowance between us this year or will we have to wait till after April 2023?
I hadn't realised before now that it needed doing due to our change in circumstances this year. I see that i can cancel it online but then will he be allowed to transfer to me immediately to take effect this year ?

If you cancel it will run to the end of the tax year. He can then apply next year.

You need to notify them before the end of the tax year so that it is not automatically carried forward to next year.
No change will be made for the current year but what you lose to tax your husband will gain. SO , as a couple, you will not be any worse off.0 -
Thanks . Would he be able to then backdate it to include this tax year as it says you usually can, or is it not possible for this scenario?0

If I understood your original post correctly you will be paying tax in the current tax year (to 5 April 2023).
And your spouse wont be paying tax.
Is that because his income (to 5 April 2023) is large enough that he benefits from the Marriage Allowance credit or will his income be less than £12,570?
