New Santander Switch - Direct Debits?

I'm switching a spare/dummy account to Santander which already has two active DDs for small amounts.

But reading the Santander terms it reads as if new DDs have to be set up only once the switch is complete.

So just to clarify does anyone know if existing DDs from the dummy account are acceptable or are new one's needed?

Thanks.

    The DDs can be part of the switch or set up post switch.

    "3.4 We reserve the right to not make any Cashback Payment where we suspect or are made aware that the Switcher Offer is being abused, for example, by closing an Old Account to switch back to us to receive the Cashback Payment"
    This is the first time I see this clause in switching TCs

    I wonder how they would argue to the FOS (if someone denied the switch bonus complained) that someone had no intention of using their new account, and how they would prove that. Also, do they know how much an old account has actually been used with regards to knowing it was an "old account" that wasn't being used actively?

    That clause has been in their offer Ts & Cs for quite a while now, here's one from 2021 for example:

     By 'old account ' I think this is a (slightly confused)  statement referring to closing an old SANTANDER account  - to maybe then be able to open a new one and switch .....

    With regards to the DDs, what if the Santander account was an already existing one with DDs already set up, would I need to set up 2 new ones to qualify?

    2.3 Within 60 days of you instructing us to start the switch to
    the Qualifying Account, you will also need to have:
    2.3.1 successfully completed the switch, which includes
    closing the account not held with us;
    2.3.2 at least two active Direct Debits in place on the
    Qualifying Account (Direct Debits must be active at the
    point we assess the Qualifying Account), and cannot
    include Direct Debits set up to fund a savings account
    you have with Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen);

    If you're switching into a Santander account which already has 2 DDs on it then you qualify, assuming the DDs are still in place 60 days later. There is no need for new DDs to be added either as part of the switch or post switch.
